Adath Israel Congregation is a Conservative synagogue in Toronto. Erwin Schild became its rabbi in September 1947, when it numbered roughly one hundred fifty families, and it was his only pulpit position.
Under his leadership the congregation grew substantially, dedicating a complete synagogue home in 1957 and a further expansion in 1965, later named the Rabbi Erwin Schild Wing. He retired from the pulpit in 1989 after more than forty years and was named Rabbi Emeritus.
