Adolf Schild was the brother of Urs Schild. After Urs died in 1888, Adolf helped lead the family business alongside Urs’s widow and sons. In 1896 he left to found his own movement company, A. Schild SA, sometimes written ASSA.
A. Schild SA grew into a significant movement maker in its own right, and its history eventually became part of the same corporate lineage that led to ETA. As with the rest of this family group, no authenticated portrait of Adolf Schild has been located, so this page uses a plain initials portrait rather than an invented image.
